How to Reach

Fazilka was announced as the 21st district of Punjab by Government of Punjab (India) on July 2011, before that Fazilka was included in Firozpur district. It is located in southwestern Punjab, next to the border with Pakistan, the border being to its west. It has Firozpur to its north, Sri Muktsar Sahib to its east, Rajasthan to the south and Pakistan to its west. It is located about 325 kms west of Punjab State Capital Chandigarh, 85 km south-west of the Ferozepur and 200 km south of Amritsar. Fazilka is 11 km off the international border with Pakistan.

By Rail

Fazilka is well connected by road and rail. The first railway line through the town was set up in 1898 on the occasion of the Diamond Jubilee of the ascension to the throne by Queen Victoria. The city is very well connected with daily or weekly trains to most places in India including the major cities like Bathinda, Ferozepur, Shri Muktsar Sahib, Abohar, Shri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Sirsa, Hisar etc.

By Road

Fazilka is connected with other cities of Punjab and also with other states by bus service. National Highway 7 passes through Fazilka. NH 7 connects to NH 9 at Malaut which leads to Delhi via Hissar and Rohtak. The state highway runs from Fazilka to Ferozepur and from Fazilka to Malout. The transportation services are provided by the state owned Punjab Roadways, PEPSU Road Transport Corporation and private bus operators.
